MILLVILLE — Authorities are investigating a Thursday night incident at a local apartment complex that left a man with multiple gunshot wounds.

City police say they have a “person of interest” in connection with the shooting and are seeking the public’s help in solving the crime.

The incident occurred at about 8:15 p.m. at the Oakview Apartments in the 1700 block of East Broad Street, police said.

Police said they went to the scene and found a man with gunshot wounds to the body. Police are not identifying the wounded man.

The victim was taken to Cooper University Hospital in Camden, where he is listed in stable condition, police said.

Police said they have determined that the shooting was the result of an “earlier altercation.” they did not provide further information.
