A car stop in Atlantic City led to two arrests involving drugs and a loaded gun early this morning.
Detectives Anthony Abrams and Jeremy Nirenberg were on detail at the Carver Hall apartments at about 2:40 this morning when they stopped a car, Sgt. Monica McMenamin said.
Lakesha Mitchell, the front seat passenger, was found in possession of a handgun with five hollow-point bullets, according to the report.
Backseat passenger Hassan Muhammad, 31, was in possession of marijuana and had outstanding warrants out of the city, totaling $932. He was also charged with drug possession.
The driver, Jeffrey Lampkin, was not charged and sent on his way, McMenamin said.
Mitchell, 30, was charged with possession of a weapon and possession of prohibited devices for the bullets. She is jailed on $100,000 bail.
Both Mitchell and Muhammad live nearby on the 1900 block of Caspian Avenue.
