A North Carolina man was arrested for assaulting an NJ Transit driver on Christmas Eve as she finished her route in Upper Deerfield.
Sgt. Brian Polite, of the New Jersey State Police, said Charles Goode, 36, of North Carolina, was charged with aggravated assault.
Goode was on a bus in Upper Deerfield when the female driver told him she had made her last stop at the Walmart at the Carl’s Corner shopping center at 9:02 p.m., Polite said. Goode then allegedly assaulted the driver with both hands, he said.
The driver has lacerations on her face and was treated at a local hospital, Polite said.
Police arrived at the scene and arrested Goode at the Wawa on Landis Avenue.
