For the fifth straight year, Ocean City will host a charity walk to benefit wounded veterans and their families.

The "Walk for the Wounded" will begin at the Music Pier on the Ocean City Boardwalk at 10 a.m. Saturday. A ceremony for the veterans will be held at 9:30 a.m.

Participants will begin at the pier, between Eighth and Ninth streets on the Boardwalk, and walk for 3 miles to 23rd Street and back.

The walk, sponsored by Ocean City Home Bank, has raised about $200,000 the past four years.

The money will benefit Operation First Response, a national nonprofit organization that assists wounded soldiers and their families in times of crisis. It also works with soldiers who were wounded from serving overseas.
