A Philadelphia man was sentenced Friday to more than 10 years in prison for the assault of a Philadelphia woman in Atlantic City last summer.
Kevin Street, 43, was sentenced to 10 years and six months in New Jersey State Prison for second-degree aggravated assault and resisting arrest by Superior Court Judge Albert Garofolfo, according to Acting Atlantic County Prosecutor Jim McClain announced.
The nephew of former Philadelphia mayor John Street must serve eight and a half years before he is eligible for parole.
He was found guilty of the charges at a trial last month.
Street assaulted a 50-year-old woman whom he was in a domestic relationship with on Aug. 23, 2012 in an Atlantic City hotel. Authorities said Street punched the victim in the face with enough force to shatter the woman’s orbital bone.
