ABSECON — Two pedestrians were illegally crossing the eastbound White Horse Pike Friday when a vehicle struck one of them, police said.

Police are investigating the incident in which Harry DellaPietro, 49, and another pedestrian jumped over the concrete median into the eastbound lane. DellaPietro was then struck by a vehicle.

DellaPietro was taken to AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center Mainland Camus in Galloway Township with nonlife threatening injuries, police said. The two pedestrians were issued summonses for improper crossing of the roadway, police said.

The driver, Ivane Escano, 23, of Bayonne, was not injured, police said.
