A man suffered a graze wound after his car was shot at after he dropped off a friend at an Atlantic City convenience store this afternoon.

Police were called to the area by the city's ShotSpotter gunshot audio detection system just before 3 p.m.

The male victim told police he had just dropped his friend off at the store on the 500 block of North Indiana Avenue when he was driving onto the Rev. JJ Walters Lane when a male shot the vehicle about four or five times, Sgt. Monica McMenamin said.

The man suffered a graze wound to his shoulder and was treated by medical personnel and the scene, McMenamin said. He did not go to the hospital.

The vehicle was struck twice, once in the rear passenger door and a second time in the door's vent, according to the report.

The suspect is described as a Hispanic male about 6-foot-3 with a pony tail wearing a white T-shirt, baseball cap, jeans shorts and white sneakers.
