Missing Pleasantville 14-year-old Tatiana Echevarria

A Pleasantville teen who had not been seen since leaving her home Friday night has been found thanks to an observant resident.

Tatiana Echevarria, 14, was reported missing at about 12:20 a.m. Monday, Capt. Sean Riggin said.

While Detective Sgt. Vaughn Howze and Detective Richard Henderson were interviewing the girl's mother for a follow-up, a resident called saying she saw a juvenile in a yard on Tunis Avenue and suspected something might be wrong, Riggin said.

The dispatcher believed the juvenile matched the description of the missing girl, he said.

Detective Miguel Lugo then made contact with the girl, who was brought to the station and positively identified by her mother, Riggin said.

"She was returned unharmed to her family," he said. "We commend the officers and the community for bringing this to a happy resolution."
