SIC budget

Sea Isle City Mayor Len Desiderio

Cindy Nevitt, Staff Writer

SEA ISLE CITY – Keeping a promise made by Mayor Leonard Desiderio, City Council on Tuesday voted 5-0 to adopt a 2015 budget with zero increase in the local tax rate. The $22.1 million spending plan will raise $15.8 million through local taxes.

The local tax rate will remain flat at 32.4 cents per $100 of assessed valuation. That means the owner of the average home assessed at $716,000 will pay $2,320 in local taxes.

Neither council nor any of the 24 people in the audience offered any comments on the budget.

The second reading and public hearing on the budget will be held at 10 a.m. April 14.
