State Police Sgt. Brian Polite said Thursday afternoon that the State Police have suspended their search for today for missing boater Jason Sill.
Polite said a determination will be made Friday morning about whether or not to continue the search.
Sill, 39, of Cape May Court House, is a Middle Township police officer. He was last seen Monday morning as he took his fishing boat out at Pier 47 marina around 9:30 a.m. His boat was found adrift about a mile off Wildwood at 10:45 a.m.
State Police conducted a surface search Thursday. The Coast Guard had already suspended its search on Tuesday night.
The search area covered 75 square miles or the equivalent of 48,000 acres on land.
