A severe thunderstorm watch is in effect for the entire region until 2 p.m. due to expected storms from a cold front passing across the region.
The National Weather Service listed the eastern quarter of South Jersey as having a slight risk of severe weather today, which means high winds, hail, heavy rain and frequent lighting could be possible during storms.
High temperatures today will be in the upper 70s to low 80s, with mid 80s possible inland, the weather service said, with a 70 percent chance of rain.
