The Somers Point Recreation Commission is sponsoring a weekly entertainment series Monday evenings through August at Morrow Beach on Bay Avenue.

The entertainment will include movies, music and magic. Events will begin at 6:30 p.m., with movies on the beach at about 8 p.m. Visitors should bring towels and beach chairs.

Events will include:

July 27 — Pirates Invade Somers Point: The Pirates of Fortune’s Folly Present: Blunder of the Seven Seas, live steel-combat show played for action and laughs. A few audience members will be “taken captive” by the crew during the show.

Aug. 3 — One Man Circus: Solo act with performer who juggles on a unicycle and performs magical illusions.

Aug. 10 — Seussology: Interactive program run by a cat who causes all types of mischief. You may know Thing 1 and Thing 2 — and you will now meet Thing 3 and watch him cause all kinds of mayhem.

Aug. 17 — Bagpipes on the Beach: Nae Breeks Pipes & Drums bagpipers’ band presents an interactive show for all ages, traditional tunes with a twist, and kids can help out on stage.

Aug. 24 — Movie on the Beach, “The Lego Movie,” begins at dusk, about 8 p.m.
