A Somers Point man was arrested on charges of having weapons in his car during a motor vehicle stop.

On May 20 at 9:51 p.m. Sandino Hernandez, 43, was pulled over on Fork Road off Delilah Road in Egg Harbor Township for alleged drunken driving, police said.

Inside the vehicle officers found an assault rifle, handguns, high-capacity magazine and hollow-point bullets, police said.

Hernandez was charged with the possession of an assault rifle, possession of a high-capacity magazine, possession of hollow-point ammunition, DWI and reckless driving. He was transported to Atlantic County jail on $15,000 cash bail.
