The son of the former Millville police officer who admitted to shooting his wife was jailed Tuesday night for allegedly striking a woman.

Dylan Vanaman, 20, of Wedgewood Court, was charged with aggravated assault and possession of marijuana Tuesday night after a domestic violence incident involving a woman, said Millville Lt. Jody Farabella. He was transported to Cumberland County Jail on $20,000 bail.

The victim sustained facial cuts and some fractures, Farabella said. She was treated at South Jersey Healthcare Regional Medical Center in Vineland.

Dylan is the son of Robert Vanaman, a former Millville police sergeant who pleaded guilty to manslaughter and evidence tampering in 2009 after admitting to shooting his wife, Barbara, twice in May 2006.

Robert Vanaman, 42, is scheduled to be released from prison on May 23, 2014, according to the state Department of Corrections.
