A two-vehicle accident on the Garden State Parkway in Egg Harbor Township injured three people and shut down the southbound lanes for over an hour.

The accident occurred in the southbound lane near mile marker 33 at about 11 a.m. and southbound traffic was shut down, police said.

The accident involved two vehicles, and a male driver of one vehicle required extrication by the fire department. Police said all three individuals in the crash, both drivers and one passenger, have been transported to AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center, City Campus.

No further information was immediately available.
