Internationally renowned electro house musician Steve Aoki will headline the New Year’s Eve event planned for Bader Field in Atlantic City, promoters confirmed Thursday.
“He’s played Atlantic City, he knows the crowd, the people who come in,” said Bobby Laws, principal of Media Mogul Group. “We have a number of college (students) and other people who come down from North Jersey, New York, Baltimore every weekend to dance in A.C. at some casino. But they’re going to come together at one location to have the biggest, craziest electronic dance party ever.”
The New Year’s Eve show is the last of about 50 nationwide this year through Life in Color, The World’s Largest Paint Party. Cannons blast paint onto the crowd during the events, which feature aerial stunts, contortionists and fire shows. In Atlantic City, all of that will go on inside a heated tent on Bader Field, a 142-acre former municipal airport bordered by the bay and a four-lane highway.
The lineup also includes Adventure Club, David Solano and Common Trash, Laws said.
Another high-profile artist — whom Laws declined to name until contract negotiations conclude — likely will join in, playing early in Atlantic City and then flying to Las Vegas to perform as the ball drops.
Discounted tickets to the event sold out within half an hour of an advance sales promotion that ran Monday, Laws said. Regularly-priced tickets are still available at dayglowtour.com.
