Richard Stockton College has been recognized by an online guide for colleges for the quality of its teaching, success of its graduates and atmosphere of its campus.

The eGuidebook for the Public Colleges of Distinction also highlighted Stockton’s small class sizes and low costs as key factors to the success of the college. Classes average 20 students and are taught by a faculty that is predominantly full-time and expert in its field, Stockton said in a statement detailing its recognition.

The school's dual-degree agreements with surrounding universities for medicine, pharmacy, engineering, and hospitality and tourism management were also praised.

The college, whose main campus is in Galloway Township, is one of three public colleges in New Jersey to be listed with the site. Ramapo College and The College of New Jersey are the others.

Colleges and universities are nominated for participation in Public Colleges of Distinction by high school college counselors, college administrative members and the group’s selection team, according to the guide.

The guide said it also uses information from personal visits by staff and a range of data such as graduation rates and classroom size.
