A Stone Harbor man died Friday morning after his SUV ran off the Garden State Parkway and overturned several times, throwing him onto the median, State Police said.

Thomas E. Kraemer IV, 28, of Stone Harbor, died shortly after midnight when his vehicle left the roadway at milepost 6.5 in Middle Township, police said.

His Lincoln Aviator was heading north and swerved right off the road due to steering overcompensation, hitting a grassy embankment, police said in a news release.

The vehicle stopped, but then Kraemer apparently continued north again with a punctured tire, the release said. He lost control a second time and veered left off the road, this time flipping his SUV. He was ejected onto the grass median.

The State Police Fatal Accident Unit and Crime Scene Investigation Unit responded. Kraemer was pronounced dead by Dr. Irineo Bustamante of AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center. Stone Harbor police notified the next of kin.

Kraemer was a 2003 graduate of Wildwood Catholic High School, according to The Press of Atlantic City archives.

Anyone with information regarding the accident should contact State Police at the Bass River station at 609-296-0503.
