Area residents saw 2 inches of snow fall Friday night, but can look forward to temperatures beginning to warm up.

National Weather Service meteorologist Larry Nierenberg said that overall the region received about 2 inches of snow from Friday’s system.

He warned that road conditions will still be dangerous today as the high at Atlantic City International Airport is expected to be only 30 degrees. That is still the highest temperature since Monday. On Sunday, the high is expected to peak above freezing at 35 degrees, Nierenberg said.

“It’ll start to moderate a little bit,” he said.

Monday is expected to bring possible rain, sleet and freezing rain in the morning, but temperatures could hit 42 degrees, while Tuesday and Wednesday could be in the 50s before the weather goes back to the 30s at the end of next week, he said.
