An employee of an Egg Harbor Township 7-11 was attacked by an armed suspect early Monday morning.
Police said Syed Ahamed, 35, of Atlantic City, was working at the 7-11 on Tilton Road at 1:33 a.m. when a suspect struck him repeatedly in the head with a handgun.
The suspect then took money and fled on foot, police said.
Ahamed was transported to AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center City Campus in Atlantic City for facial and head injuries, police said.
The suspect is described as a black male between 5-feet 7-inches and 5-feet 10-inches tall, wearing blue jeans, a grey hooded sweatshirt and a black jacket.
