STAFFORD TOWNSHIP — Police are searching for a man who robbed the TD Bank on Route 72 East Thursday morning.
At 11:27 a.m., Stafford Township police received a report of a robbery at the bank by a male suspect. A surveillance camera captured the image of the suspect.
The man entered the bank and passed a note to a teller that stated it was a robbery, police said.
Police said the suspect was in his mid 20’s to early 30’s, about 5 feet, 5 inches tall with a thin build, dark hair and goatee. The suspect was wearing a black jacket, grey sweatpants and sunglasses when he entered the bank, police said.
The suspect did not display a weapon, a news release stated.
The subject fled the bank on foot with cash he took from the teller and was last seen running west towards the T.G.I. Friday’s restaurant. Police, including two K-9 teams, searched the area.
Following the robbery, four nearby elementary schools were placed on lockdown as a precaution: the Ronald L. Meinders Primary Learning Center, McKinley Avenue School, Stafford Intermediate School and All Saints Regional Catholic School.
