A 17-year-old male was shot several times Monday night, according to police.
The shooting occurred at about 7 p.m. last night in the alley that runs north from Lincoln Street, between Atlantic and Fayette streets.
The victim fled on foot, eventually flagging down a resident on Wayne Road, who called in the emergency.
The 17-year-old is at Cooper Medical Center in critical but stable condition.
Bridgeton police said they are following "very strong leads" and are "confident charges will be filed soon."
Police are not releasing further information at this time.
