An Egg Harbor Township father and son and a female from Galloway were arrested Saturday on charges of allegedly breaking into several vacant Somers Point homes and stealing copper piping, Somers Point police said.
Police arrested Russell Jones, Sr. 67 and his son Russell Jones, Jr., 30, both of Egg Harbor Township, along with Kelly Flinn, 26, of Galloway Township, on charges of burglary, theft and conspiracy.
Police Chief Michael Boyd said the three were allegedly selling the stolen copper to a recycling outsourcing company to make a profit. They were taken to the Atlantic City Justice Facility, where Jones Sr. was released on his own recognizance and the other two remain on cash bail of $50,000 and $25,000 respectively.
The investigation and arrests were conducted by Somers Point Police Officers John Miller and Michael Mabkhouti.
