MILLVILLE — The three people who were injured in an early-morning shooting Wednesday remain in serious condition, authorities said.

Police are still searching for a possible suspect and are investigating all possibilities as to why the shooting occurred, police Lt. Ed Zadroga said.

The shooting occurred in the 500 block of North Third Street.

Authorities confirmed the identities of the wounded as Vineland residents Anthony Fox, 25, and Denard Davis, 24, and Bridgeton resident Brooke Hays, 26. Addresses for the injured were not available.

Zadroga said all three victims are now in Cooper University Hospital in Camden. One of the injured men, although authorities will not say which one, was in South Jersey HealthCare Regional Medical Center in Vineland on Wednesday before being transferred to Cooper.

Hays was shot in the head, while Fox and Davis suffered multiple gunshot wounds, police said.

Authorities said Wednesday they went to the scene after some residents in the area reported hearing multiple gunshots around 2:30 a.m. Authorities said Hays, Fox and Davis were all unresponsive when they arrived.

Zadroga on Wednesday said there have been several shootings in the neighborhood during the past several years. He said the neighborhood is already heavily patrolled by police.
