Two men have been arrested and charged for allegedly kidnapping a man in Atlantic City and taking him back to his Ventnor residence to rob him, Ventnor police said.

Sgt. Larry Hoff said the man, whose identity was not being released, said he was kidnapped and driven back to his apartment on Newport Avenue in Ventnor.

While responding to a 911 call at about 1 a.m., officers discovered several men removing items from the apartment. The men then fled the scene on foot.

After a brief chase, Hoff said, two men were apprehended near the scene. A handgun also was recovered from the scene.

Wayne A. Crymes, Jr., 31, of Mays Landing, and Korahn D. Hinson, 38, of Bridgeton, were charged with conspiracy to commit robbery, criminal restraint and resisting arrest. Bail was set for both men at $100,000.

Hoff said the men were turned over to the Atlantic City Police Department for further investigation and processing. Further charges are pending, he said.

Atlantic City police have not released further information.
