Vineland police arrested two men who allegedly committed nine burglaries at businesses on Chestnut Avenue so far this year.

Luis J. Colon, 24, and Omar Collazo-Matias, 21, both of Vineland, were charged with multiple counts of burglary, attempted burglary, criminal mischief, and theft, police said in a release. They were taken to Cumberland County jail on $50,000 bail.

Collazo-Matias was arrested Sunday night after police responded to a break-in in progress at the Giant Laundromat on the 300 block of West Chestnut Avenue and he was found near the scene, police said.

Later that night police said they saw Colon peeking into a business on Sixth Street and Chestnut Avenue while wearing a hooded sweatshirt. Police said he matched the description of the previous burglaries in the area and he was found with a hammer and screwdriver, Colon later admitted to police he was involved with other robberies with Collazo-Matias.

Police said the investigation is ongoing and more charges are pending.
