Two people were injured, one seriously, in a propane tank explosion Friday in Dennis Township, state police said.

Troopers from the Woodbine station responded to a report of an explosion about 4 p.m. at the Tamerlane Campground off Route 9 in the Ocean View section.

Police found one mobile home and two vehicles in flames. Although the structure initially appeared unoccupied, responders later found two residents who had been inside at the time of the explosion.

A 59-year-old man suffered severe burns to a large portion of his body and was airlifted to Nathan Speare Regional Burn Treatment Center at Crozer-Chester Medical Center in in Upland, Pa.

A 52-year-old woman suffered minor injuries and was transported to AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center City Campus.

The victim's names are not yet being released. Their conditions were not available Saturday.

The cause of the explosion was under investigation Saturday.
