GALLOWAY TOWNSHIP — Two men were arrested early Saturday after a man reported being robbed near the Pizza Hut on the White Horse Pike, police said.

The victim said after he was robbed at gunpoint, he followed the suspects’ car, a 2005 black Acura, west on Route 30. Police said they located the car and attempted a high-risk car stop.

Police said the suspects fled in the vehicle leading police on pursuit. Then, as they attempted to enter the Garden State Parkway from Pomona Road, the driver crashed in the woods.

The passenger, Juaquan Fitzgerald, 25, of Somerset, fled on foot into the woods and was caught later in the morning in Port Republic. The driver, Chadwyn Norman, 25, of North Brunswick, was stopped at the crash scene.

Neither of the men was injured, police said. A search warrant executed on the vehicle led to seizure of what police said was “a large amount of marijuana.”

Both men were charged with armed robbery, eluding, possession of a controlled dangerous substance and weapons offenses. Bail was set at $200,000 cash each. They were being held Sunday at the Atlantic County jail.

Police officers from Richard Stockton College, Egg Harbor Township, Hamilton Township, Somers Point and the State Police assisted.
