A Ventnor man missing since January died of drowning and hypothermia, autopsy results show.
Kennedy Rios’ body was discovered at about 4 p.m. Friday in the water off Surrey Avenue in Ventnor Heights near the boathouse. Several crews row out of that area and were on the water when the discovery was made.
Coaches had their crews row the other way to keep them from where the body was.
Rios, 21, disappeared from a party after 12:30 a.m. Jan. 8. Friends said he had been drinking and hadn’t taken anything with him — including his cell phone or a coat in the single-digit temperatures.
Police dogs traced his scent to Ski Beach, but divers found nothing.
His body was discovered on the opposite side of Ventnor Heights.
