VENTNOR — Police arrested a 23-year-old man on charges of stabbing another man in the thigh Tuesday afternoon.

John Thompson was charged with aggravated assault, unlawful possession of a weapon and possession of a weapon for unlawful purposes, police said. He was taken to Atlantic County jail on $25,000 bail.

Police responded to a home on the 100 block of North Princeton Avenue at 1:19 p.m. and found a victim with a stab wound to his left thigh. He was transported to AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center City Campus for treatment, police said.

Thompson was located at a nearby residence and arrested, police said.

Police did not release a possible motive for the attack.
