Middle Township Police arrested a Villas woman Thursday who was allegedly driving while intoxicated and nearly ran down a township employee.
Police said Susan J. Colvin, 46, was driving around the 400 block of Dias Creek Road at about 2 p.m. on Thursday when she left the road and started hitting several mailboxes and trash cans.
A public works employee was on the side of the road collecting leaves at the time, heard the vehicle coming and had to leap out of the way to avoid getting hit.
Police said the employee was not hit but he did sustain injuries by jumping out of the way.
Police arrested Colvin and charged her with reckless driving and driving while intoxicated. She was released with a summons for a future court date.
