VINELAND — Authorities are still investigating circumstances surrounding the discovery Friday of a body in a house.

Authorities have yet to determine the identity of the person found in a home in the 600 block of South Sixth Street, Cumberland County Prosecutor Jennifer Webb-McRae said.

An autopsy was performed on the body, but the results are not yet available, she said.

City police, who are investigating the discovery with officials from the Prosecutor’s Office, could not be reached for comment.

Local authorities said they want to the house, which they described as being abandoned and having a boarded-up first floor, at about 7 p.m. after getting a report of a foul odor at the property.
