VINELAND – City police charged a local man with robbery who they said allegedly bit a Walmart employee while stealing a large television.

Police said Justin M. Campbell was trying to leave the West Landis Avenue store with a 46-inch television worth $898 around 11:53 p.m. Saturday when he was approached by the employee.

The 21-year-old Campbell started to run, police said.

“Campbell then began to fight with the store employee and even bit the employee’s hand,” police state in an arrest report.

Campbell was eventually stopped by store security and arrested by city police.

Campbell was charged with robbery and lodged in the Cumberland County jail in Bridgeton on $50,000 cash bail.

Police did not identify the store employee.
