VINELAND – An argument between two men here on Sunday morning left one of them seriously injured after he was punched, kicked and tossed down a fight of stairs at a West Chestnut Avenue apartment complex, police said.

Police said Jeffrey Kuss, 51, no address known, was taken to Inspira Medical Center Vineland after they found him bleeding heavily from the head while lying on a sidewalk near Chestnut Square Apartments.

Kuss was eventually airlifted to Cooper University Hospital in Camden. He was listed in stable condition on Sunday.

Police have charged Muhammed R. Wynn, 47, of the 30 block of West Chestnut Avenue here, with aggravated assault. He was lodged in the Cumberland County jail in Bridgeton on $50,000 bail.

Police described Kuss and Wynn as “acquaintances” and said the 10:30 a.m. incident followed an argument between the two men. Wynn eventually punched Kuss several time, threw him down a flight of stairs and then repeatedly kicked him, police allege.

Wynn was apprehended near the scene about the same time Kuss was found lying on the sidewalk, police said.
