A Vineland man was stabbed in the chest during a fight over a debt owed to him Wednesday night.

Police responding to a residence in the 1100 block of Fairmount Avenue at 9:40 p.m. found at least three people fighting in the front yard.

Police said two men had to come the home of Eugene Brunson, 52, to collect money on a debt he owed. One of the men, Daniel King, 39, was stabbed in the chest with a knife by Brunson during the fight, police said.

King was taken by helicopter to AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center City Campus for a minor stab wound and released Thursday morning.

Brunson was arrested and charged with aggravated assault, possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose and unlawful possession of a weapon. He is being held in Cumberland County Jail and bail is set at $50,000.
