VINELAND – City police said they have charged eight students in connection with three separate incidents that occurred at local schools earlier this month.

One incident involves the arrest of five students following an assault on a security guard at Vineland High School South on Jan. 10.

The other incidents involved a theft at Wallace Middle School on Jan. 11, and a fight at Vineland High School South on Jan. 17.

This is the second time this month that local authorities have reported a series of student arrests.

City police arrested four students at three different schools for incidents that occurred the day they returned to class after the Christmas holiday break.

In one of the incidents, police said they charged a 15-year-old Vineland High School South student for having a folding pocket knife stashed in one of her boots.

The other incidents involve a fight between students, and an assault on a student and a school security guard.
