Officers on Friday arrested a man accussed of posing as a bounty hunter, according to Vineland police.

An anonymous tip placed Edward D. Collins at Eighth and Pine streets in Millville. Vineland and Millville police approached a vehicle that Collins was a passenger in. Police said Collins fled but after a short chase was caught around 11th and Mulberry streets.

He will be processed and placed in the Cumberland County jail. His bail is set at $300,000.

Collins was wanted in a kidnapping and theft by extortion investigation. He allegedly portrayed himself as a bounty hunter without having a state license and then illegally detained a woman, demanding money. He told the victim that he was working for the Attorney General's Office, which is false, police said.
