A new health care facility that will replace a current location that is “bursting at the seams” is planned to open in Vineland as part of the CompleteCare Health Network expansion by 2014.
The facility will provide services for adult medication, pediatrics, ob-gyn, general dentistry, mental health, podiatry, cardiology, optometry, radiology, minor surgery, physical rehabilitation, health education classes and an onsite pharmacy.
The expansion will cater to the uninsured and underinsured population but also welcome other clientele, CompleteCare spokeswoman Emily Paul said in a statement.
“We see everyone whether or not they have insurance, so this is part of that mission,” Paul said.
A $5 million grant allows CompleteCare to plan the new facility in a central location — at the site of the former Lucia’s Restaurant on West Sherman Avenue— that is easily accessible by public transport, Paul said.
The current site is on Landis Avenue.
Earlier this week, CompleteCare announced it will have three new locations open by June in Cape May County.
The network provides service to more than 50,000 patients in Cape May, Gloucester and Cumberland counties, but a large number in the area are not connected to health care now, Paul said. With new facilities opening this year and next, the number of patients is expected to grow significantly.
