A 50-year-old Vineland woman was arrested earlier this month for allegedly growing 13 marijuana plants at her home.
Maribel Matos, 50, of the 1600 block of Woodlawn Avenue, was arrested on charges of possession of marijuana under 50 grams, possession of between 10 and 50 marijuana plants, possession of drug paraphernalia and an outstanding warrant. She posted full $75,000 bail and is awaiting a court date, police said.
An anonymous tip led police to her home on Sept. 5. Officers were told there were seven or eight marijuana plants growing in 5 gallon buckets in Matos’ backyard, police said.
Police said Matos admitted the plants were hers. Police found a total of 13 marijuana plants, marijuana in a clear plastic bag and two boxes of smoking pipes and plastic bags.
Matos has not been charged with distributing the marijuana and police did not release how she used the plants.
