WILDWOOD — A Philadelphia man was arrested in connection with several stabbings that took place Sunday, police said.
According to police reports, officers responded at 3:23 a.m. to multiple locations for reports of several victims being stabbed.
Officers on foot patrol near Garfield and New Jersey avenues were told that a suspect was running south on the 100 block of East Garfield Avenue.
Officers found the suspect, identified as Daniel Clark, 23, near Spicer and New Jersey avenues. Officers also recovered a knife the suspect had attempted to discard, police said.
The stabbings apparently took place in a residence on the 200 block of East Spencer Avenue.
Police said four people were stabbed, two of whom were transported by helicopter to the Regional Trauma Unit of Atlanticare Regional Medial Center’s City Campus.
A third victim was transported to the hospital by ambulance.
The fourth victim and the suspect were taken to Cape Regional Medical Center in Middle Township for treatment of their stab wounds, police said.
The Wildwood Police Detective Division investigated, along with the Cape May County Prosecutor’s Office Major Crimes Unit and Crime Scene Unit.
Clark was charged with four counts of second-degree aggravated assault, third-degree possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose and fourth-degree possession of a weapon.
Judge Louis J. Belasco set bail at $35,000 on the condition that Clark make no contact with the victims.
