EDISON — A brush fire in New Jersey is pouring thick black smoke into the air and can reportedly be smelled in parts of New York City.
The fire was reported shortly before noon Thursday in a grassy area in Edison, about 30 miles southwest of Manhattan.
Television news footage shows bright flames, a few acres of charred grass and thick smoke.
It has reportedly been smelled in Staten Island.
