An Atlantic City man has been indicted on nine counts in the sexual assault of two children, Atlantic County Prosecutor Damon G. Tyner announced Wednesday.

A grand jury handed up the indictment against 41-year-old Santos Blanco on four counts of aggravated sexual assault, four counts of endangering the welfare of a child and one count of endangering.

Blanco was initially arrested and charged with two counts of aggravated sexual assault, two counts of endangering the welfare of a child and one count of endangering in September. Additional charges were added in October in the sexual assault of a second child.

A monthlong investigation by the Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Special Victims Unit and detectives from the Pleasantville and Atlantic City police departments led to Blanco’s arrest Sept. 19.

Judge Patricia Wild granted the state’s motion to detain Blanco in the Atlantic County jail.
