ATLANTIC CITY — Police arrested a Mays Landing man they found Thursday with a handgun and cocaine, the department said.

Officers Anthony Moore and Armani Rex saw Seifullah Abdullah, 27, engage in a drug transaction on Ocean Avenue, police said.

Abdullah fled when officers approached him, police said. They caught Abdullah on the beach block of Kentucky Avenue. He had a handgun and 11 grams of cocaine, police said, and several outstanding warrants for his arrest.

Abdullah was charged with unlawful possession of a weapon, possession of a controlled dangerous substance, possession with intent to distribute, possession with intent to distribute within 500 feet of a public zone, possession of a weapon during a drug offense, obstruction of justice and resisting arrest.

He was taken to the Atlantic County jail.
