An Atlantic City man was apprehended after fleeing police officers twice in a span of about 36 hours.
Levi Young, 23, of North South Carolina Avenue, was arrested for outstanding warrants, unlawful possession of a weapon, possession of a weapon by a convicted felon, obstruction, possession of a defaced firearm and possession of hollow point bullets, police said.
He was transported to Atlantic County jail, police said.
Det. Anthony Abrams spotted Young on the 500 block of North Indiana Avenue at 12:30 p.m. and then Young ran and hid in a nearby home. Several units responded to the area including K9 Officer Sam Rando and his partner Duke who found him inside a residence, police said. Officers also recovered an automatic weapon.
Police also said Young fled from police on Wednesday just after midnight when Abrams and Officer Brian Hambrecht pursued two wanted males in the area of 300 North Kentucky Avenue. They did apprehend Jermaine Reynolds, who was charged with handgun possession and contempt.
