Atlantic City police are looking for a suspect after a man was shot early this morning in front of the Lighthouse Plaza.

DeJohn Fraiser, 22, said he was walking in front of 300 Atlantic Ave., with his fiancé and a small group at about 1:15 a.m., when he saw a male riding a bike from Vermont Avenue going west on Atlantic with his face covered, Sgt. Monica McMenamin said. He then saw the man stand on the pedals and take out what looked like a gun.

Fraiser told police he tried to run inside the building, and was trapped between the front door and security door when three or four shots were fired.

Fraiser was struck in the right side of his lower back, McMenamin said. He was taken to AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center, where he was treated for a graze wound, and released.

Suspected fragments bullets were recovered by members of the Forensics Unit and sent to the state lab, McMenamin said. It is also believed that video surveillance exists, but has not yet been viewed.
