A Galloway Township man posed as a news reporter after allegedly attempting to rob a Little Egg Harbor Township pharmacy of prescription drugs, according to police.

Little Egg Harbor police said Brandon Rivera, 28, presented a note demanding oxycodone pills to a pharmacist shortly before 11:10 a.m. Thursday at the Walgreens on Mathistown Road. When Rivera realized he would not get the pills, police said, he identified himself as a reporter researching a story and then left the store.

Store employees identified Rivera’s vehicle. After an investigation by police, it was revealed Rivera was not a reporter.
