Police are investigating a shooting on North Second Street this evening in Pleasantville.

Police said Julian Johnson, 18, was shot twice- in the leg and torso- and transported to AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center, City Campus, in Atlantic City for serious injuries.

Police and residents in the area said they heard several shots at about 9:50 p.m. Some said as many as seven.

An unoccupied police car was in front of the residence, located between Adams Avenue and Woodland Avenue, at the time of the shooting.

Police said the car had been there as a deterrent due to concerns of violence in the area.

A section of North Second Street, between Adams and Woodland avenues, was temporarily closed off with yellow police tape.

Police said one suspect fled on foot, but no description is available at this time.

Police cleared the scene at about 11:20 p.m.
