State Police are still searching for an unnamed suspect in the shooting death of a Commercial Township man over the weekend.

Police were called to a home on Main Street in the Port Norris section Saturday after receiving a report of gunshots. When they arrived, they found Benjamin Broughton, 29, lying in his front yard with a single gunshot wound to his left eye, State Police Sgt. Gregory Williams said.

Broughton was taken to Inspira Medical Center in Vineland and pronounced dead at 2:04 p.m., less than 10 minutes after police arrived.

Police are in pursuit of an unidentified man whom Broughton’s girlfriend, Sharee Goines, said got into an altercation with Broughton, during which he was shot.

A State Police spokesperson said Wednesday his office could not release the suspect’s name. The case is currently under investigation by the State Police Major Crimes Unit.

Another Commercial Township man, Eugene Tabinowski, was also killed over the weekend in an unrelated incident. Tabinowski was stabbed in the head, neck and face Friday night and died the following night, Sgt. Williams said.

Michael Duberson, 40, of Millville was arrested Sunday and charged with murder, aggravated assault and various weapons charges in Tabinowski’s death.
