Atlantic City police arrested a 44-year-old city man after he allegedly stabbed another man Friday.

Officers found the victim -- also a 44-year-old Atlantic City -- stabbed in the abdomen in the 300 block of N. South Carolina Avenue shortly after 7 p.m. Friday. The victim -- whose name is not being released -- was taken to AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center's City Campus for treatment.

Detectives Joseph Iacovone and Jerard Ingenito investigated, using a photo from a nearby surveillance camera, Lt. Rodney Ruark said. With the help of K-9 Officer Garry Stowe, they identified the suspect as Eric Gibson, who is also known as Latif Abdullah.

He was arrested at South Carolina and Adriatic avenues at 9:14 p.m. by Officer Ermando Marsini.

Gibson was charged with aggravated assault and unlawful possession of a weapon for unlawful purposes. He was held at the Atlantic County Justice Facility in Mays Landing on $100,000 bail.
