Somers Point Police charged two people with weapons and drug possession charges after executing a search warrant at the Somers Point Apartments Wednesday morning, Police Chief Michael Boyd said.

Edwin Moreno, 29, of Somers Point and Frances Lionetti, 19, of Ventnor following the 5 a.m. raid, which included the Atlantic County Emergency Response Team, Boyd said.

Moreno was charged with drug possession, possession with intent to distribute ecstasy, possession with intent to disrupt in a public housing area, possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of an expandable baton and a machete.

Moreno also had two outstanding arrest warrants and is being held on a $100,000 cash bail.

Lionetti was charged with drug possession, possession with intent to distribute marijuana and possession with intent to distribute in a public housing area. She is being held on a $25,000 cash bail.

During the investigation police also confiscated $240 in cash and a 2004 Nissan Maxima.
